OUR HISTORY

What is the need that we want to cover as creators?

It was the question I asked myself after several years in the sustainable fashion industry.

I found the answer in Malta teaching a workshop called "The art of recycling" to children from Africa, Libya and Syria. There I had the opportunity to investigate, with the mothers of the children, in what conditions the used clothes that we sent from Europe to their countries arrived.

To my surprise, the donations do not reach these countries as a solidarity benefit, but rather a resale business has been created that has destroyed the local economy.

Furthermore, if we take into account that 60% of these garments are made of polyester (plastic) that take more than 200 years to degrade. And that, when they do, they pollute the soil, water and air.

In other words, we are not only destroying its economy, but we are also polluting its resources.

This happens because there is no second-hand business model that supports a cycle of buying and selling garments like the one we need to alleviate current consumption.

Therefore, it is sent to other countries.

This situation destroyed my desire to create something from scratch, forcing me to create something from scrap.

So: the path was the other way around.

So finally, MENOStrash was born.

It was possible to find

the answer because WE ARE

IMAGINATION

Because whoever does not imagine anything beyond what he sees every day, will never dare to explore the world.
For this reason, we have the ability to create, to generate ideas, solve problems, find different paths and transform the environment.

We do it

through

SIMPLICITY

Because we reduce everything to the essentials, and we concentrate on what is most important.

We did it

by being 1% better

EVERY DAY

We improve little by little like plants, we guide our activities to propose daily improvements to increase the value proposition by creating new elements that have never been offered to customers.

And everything is possible

because we have

ILLUSION

Which is what makes us not lose sight of the port we want to reach, always having a positive mentality, a union of optimism and acceptance.
Which lasts over time because it is a choice, because we love what we do and because we are convinced that we are part of something as important as the commitment to watch over our planet.

The sale of used clothing to developing countries has become a tool to eliminate garments in poor condition or with no market value that cannot be resold in the country of origin. So these garments end up in landfills, in rivers or are incinerated in the open air in these countries (Poisoned Gifts, Greenpeace)
